From April to June 2024, Los Angeles metro area experienced the highest YoY change in median sale prices among the top 15 metro areas, with a substantial rise of 14.5% compared to the same period last year, resulting in a median sale price of $1,116,000. In contrast, Austin saw the only decrease among the top 15 metros, with a decline of 3.3%, bringing its median sale price to $445,000. Other notable increases include New York with a 10.8% rise to $665,000, and the Philadelphia metro area, which saw a 10.4% increase to $425,000. The Boston metro also experienced a rise of 8.4%, bringing its median sale price to $775,000. The Seattle and Chicago metro areas saw increases of 7.9% and 7.7%, respectively, while the Washington metro area had a 7.3% rise.
