Housing inventory continued to show year-over-year growth across the top five U.S. metro areas in September 2026. Houston, TX led with 66,411 homes for sale, up 14.3% year-over-year. Atlanta, GA followed with 59,828 listings, reflecting a 13.4% increase, while Dallas, TX recorded 54,844 homes for sale, with inventory rising 3.0%. New York, NY reported 36,126 listings, marking an 11.8% year-over-year increase. San Antonio, TX rounded out the top five with 29,661 homes for sale, up 11.7% year-over-year.
