During June to August 2026, median sale prices for single-family homes showed year-over-year growth across several major U.S. housing markets. Baltimore recorded the highest increase among the 30 metro areas analyzed, with a 6.1% rise and a median sale price of $520K. Chicago followed with a 5.7% increase, reaching $430K, while San Diego saw a 5.6% gain, bringing its median sale price to $1,120K. New York registered a 5.5% increase, with a median sale price of $770K. St. Louis rounded out the top five, posting a 5.3% rise and a median sale price of $296K.
